No One Knows: A Short Film About SecretsNo One Knows is a story about family, public perceptions, and secrets. What would you do to keep your secret?
This short script has caused strong reactions in everyone who's read it. The subject is one that seems to be taboo in our society, that of sexual abuse of children. This strong reaction to the script was what made Daniel Hoyos and Bunee Tomlinson want to make this film. Coming from different backgrounds, the 19-year-old director, Bunee Tomlinson of Oklahoma, and producer Daniel Hoyos of Washington both felt an emotional connection to the storyline, having both dealt with situations of abuse and loneliness. In May 2012, Daniel was looking for short scripts to produce, and was introduced to writer, Jamie Livingston-Dierks, and her short script, No One Knows. His immediate reactions was, "This script rocked my world." And when his director read it, Daniel said his jaw dropped. The official announcement was made within days of reading the script, Daniel Hoyos would produce, and Bunee Tomlinson would direct No One Knows. The reaction to the announcement, and the response was incredible. Daniel has never seen such a positive response to other scripts he's produced. |
